Racing through Uptown

Hundreds of local biking enthusiasts made their way to Uptown June 18 to see the fourth stage of the Nature Valley Grand Prix, part of the annual Nature Valley Bicycle Festival. Roughly 220 professional male and female bikers wound their way around the .88-kilometer track, reaching speeds near 30 miles per hour as fans cheered and rang cowbells. Hilton Clarke from the United Healthcare/Maxxis team won the men’s stage of the event while Chloe Hosking from HTC Columbia led the women.
