EAST ISLES


Nov. 2, from 2:50 a.m. to 2:56 a.m., 2640 Hennepin Ave. S.
Unknown suspects tried to enter the closed and locked First Tech Computer business by breaking the glass on the front door. Even though the glass shattered, it remained intact in the doorframe. The suspects drove away from the scene before officers got there.

ECCO

+ Nov. 1, between 1:43 a.m. and 2 a.m., 3236 Hennepin Ave. S.
A person hit a 23-year-old man in the head with a bottle. Officers responded to the scene where paramedics treated the victim before transporting him to HCMC for more medical treatment. Police are investigating the incident.

KENNY

+ Oct. 28, between 7 p.m. and 7:10 p.m., 5457 Girard Ave. S.
A 22-year-old woman stated that the suspect, a person she knows, slashed at her with a kitchen knife. The suspect was gone by the time officers arrived at the scene. The victim was not injured.

KINGFIELD

Oct. 27, between 7 a.m. and 9:54 a.m., 3816 Nicollet Ave. S.
A man was gone from his lower level apartment when his father called him. His dad had arrived at his son’s apartment and found the window open. He called his son, who immediately came to the apartment to find that cash was missing from a gym bag in his bedroom. Police recovered a knife the suspect used to get in through the window.

LOWRY HILL EAST

+ Oct. 28, between 1:31 p.m. and 1:35 p.m., 2929 Hennepin Ave. S.
An 18-year-old female reported that a suspect came up from behind her and grabbed her purse. The suspect got into a vehicle and fled the scene. Officers located the vehicle at the registered owner’s address and towed it.


Oct. 29, between 5:30 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., at the intersection of Dupont Ave S. and W. 29 St.
While in Rainbow Grocery on Lake Street, someone smashed the window of a 51-year-old man’s car and took a briefcase that was on the floor near the front seat of the passenger side. The man looked in the surrounding area and asked nearby pedestrians about the incident but no one appeared to have seen anything.


Oct. 30, between 6:20 a.m. and 6:40 a.m., 1406 W. Lake St.
Uptown Association discovered a burglary three days after it happened. Someone found that the internal storage room had been broken into, but no loss was discovered. Footage from a video surveillance system showed the suspect breaking into the business to access the storage room. Police believe that this suspect is the same person responsible for several other burglaries in the area that occurred on the same day.

LYNDALE

Oct. 27, between 8:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., 3013 Lyndale Ave S.
While a 39-year-old man was meeting with the owner of the Alternative Bike & Board Shop inside the store, someone smashed the driver’s side window of his car, unlocked the doors and rifled through the vehicle. The man found that his gym bag had been dumped out inside the car and his briefcase was emptied.


+ Oct. 30, 2006, between 1:59 a.m. and 2:05 a.m., 3006 Lyndale Ave. S.
A man, 29, cut a 37-year-old man on the face. The 29-year-old was arrested and then booked at Hennepin County Jail. He faces a felony charge of assault with a dangerous weapon.

LYNNHURST

Nov. 1, between midnight and 8 a.m., 5000 Newton Ave. S.
A 46-year-old man was asleep in his home when someone jacked up his car, which was parked on the street, removed the left front tire and lowered the car to the ground.

STEVENS SQUARE

+ Nov. 1, from 1:06 a.m. and 1:16 a.m., 1805 1 Ave. S.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man after the he spit on a police officer. He was booked for fourth degree assault.

WHITTIER

Oct. 28, from 11:45 p.m. to 11:47 p.m., intersection of E. 26th St. and Stevens Ave S.
A 19-year-old woman was walking home when an unknown person came up behind her and took the purse from her shoulder. Her stolen debit card was used to purchase items at the BP gas station on 3rd Ave. S. and Franklin Ave. E.


+ Oct. 29, from 12:27 a.m. to 12:29 a.m., 2820 1 Ave. S.

A suspect entered a 57-year-old woman’s apartment. The suspect hit the woman in the face, pulled her hair and threw her computer to the floor. The suspect also broke the woman’s phone. Police are investigating the incident.


+ Nov. 2, from 11:44 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., 2309 Lyndale Ave. S.
A female was walking north on Lyndale Avenue when a person who was walking in her direction started running toward her. The person grabbed the 52-year-old woman’s purse and ran south on Lyndale and then east on 24th Street. Officers checked the area but did not locate the suspect.
