ARMATAGE

Neighborhood boundary in question

The Armatage Neighborhood Association (ANA) and Kenny Neighborhood Association (KNA) recently realized they both have the incorrect boundary between their neighborhoods listed in their bylaws. The city changed the boundary sometime in the past decade so that it runs down Logan Avenue through the middle of two properties between 59th and 60th streets. Knowing which neighborhood the properties are in is important when applying for housing loans and figuring out voting rights, ANA members said at their monthly meeting in October. The neighborhoods are working with the city to straighten out the issue.

KINGFIELD

Community bonfire

The Kingfield Neighborhood Association’s (KFNA) Crime Prevention and Safety Committee is hosting a community bonfire Nov. 14 from 7–9 p.m. at Martin Luther King Park, 4055 Nicollet Ave. Hot cider will be provided. It’s a social event for all ages — no agenda is planned.

LOWRY HILL

Property taxes 101

The Lowry Hill Neighborhood Association (LHNA) will host an informational session on city property taxes 6 p.m.–8 p.m. Nov. 17 at Walker Art Center, 1750 Hennepin Ave.

Minneapolis Finance Director Pat Born and Budget Director Heather Johnson will be on hand to describe the city’s tax structure, explain how property taxes are set and answer audience questions.
